How to win the argument, but lose the person
Here's a good one: tell someone that if they don't agree with you, then they don't believe the Bible. It's childish, it's insulting, it's the theological equivalent of the nuclear option. It's also depressingly common. And someone went nuclear on me today.
Yesterday, if I didn't agree, it was because I was too influenced by rationalistic thinking. We're nearly, but not quite, at the stage where if I don't agree with them, it's because I've been demonized. But I will not be surprised if that one comes tomorrow.
